Captain Harp was born and raised in Pennsylvania where he started fly fishing at the age of 5 with his Grand Father.
Over the past 40+ years, he has fly fished for Bonefish in Belize and the Bahamas, Salmon in Alaska and Siberia, Trout in Wyoming, Utah, Labrador and Pennsylvania and Tarpon, Bonefish, Redfish and Snook in the Florida Keys.
He previously held 3 Northern Pike World Records, and is in the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame.
He Fished with Curt Gowdy in the Williamsport, PA area and in the 1997 Redbone Tournament in Islamorada.
Following a 19 year Newspaper career in Wilkes-Barre PA. Where he was the Associate Publisher and Chief Photographer of the Sunday Independent Newspaper, he and his Wife Lynda moved to Islamorada, Florida where he started Guiding in 1993.
In 1997 Harp guided his Angler to the largest Permit in the 7th Annual George Bush Cheeca Lodge Bonefish Tournament, and in 2013 his Angler caught the largest Black Drum in the Herman Lucerne Back country fishing tournament.
From Fly fishing Bonefish on the Ocean side of Islamorada with an experienced angler to spin fishing for Redfish and Trout along the shoreline's of the Everglades National Park with a first time angler, he enjoys just being out on the water and the Natural Beauty of the Florida Keys.
